Dr. Avi Rose
I'm trained as an educator and psychologist, having earned a PhD from the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Having practiced as a psychologist, I've worked mainly in the field of Jewish education. For some three decades, I've had the opportunity to teach a variety of populations in multiple settings. In that time, I've developed a specialty for arts and culture based education, focusing mainly on Israel Studies and Jewish identity. Recently, I've begun to train educators in the use of the arts as a tool for self discovery and expression.
My most important/challenging/rewarding job is being a parent, something I share with my husband, Binyamin. We live in Jerusalem.
When I'm not educating, writing or parenting, I engage in an ongoing art practice. I work in a variety of media and love the constant creative challenges that this world offers me.
